Personalized support for your fertility journey.
Gentle acupuncture, thoughtful cycle guidance, and individualized care while you prepare for pregnancy.
Whether you are beginning to try or navigating ongoing fertility concerns, we take time to understand your menstrual patterns, symptoms, medical history, and goals. Chinese herbal medicine may be included when appropriate for natural conception.
Your cycle. Your priorities.
Care that considers the whole person.
Our approach brings together symptom support, cycle awareness, and practical preconception guidance alongside appropriate medical care.
Menstrual symptoms
We review cramps, PMS, spotting, and changes in your periods, tailoring care to your comfort and recommending medical assessment when indicated.
Cycle awareness
We help you understand ovulation tracking, your fertile window, and the information your cycle records can provide to your medical team.
Everyday well-being
Treatment considers stress, sleep, tension, and your experience of trying to conceive, with space to discuss what feels manageable for you.
Support throughout the month
An approach tailored to each cycle phase.
Your needs can change throughout your cycle. We do not assume that everyone has a 28-day cycle or ovulates on day 14.
Menstruation
Care focuses on comfort while we review bleeding, cramps, clots, and spotting. Persistent or unusual bleeding also deserves medical evaluation.
Before ovulation
During the follicular phase, we tailor treatment to your symptoms and discuss nutrition, sleep, movement, and other preconception habits.
Around ovulation
We review ovulation predictor tests, cervical mucus changes, and cycle patterns to help you understand your fertile window.
After ovulation
During the luteal phase, we focus on comfort, sleep, stress, and premenstrual symptoms. Tell us about recurring spotting or a consistently short interval before your next period.
Understanding your cycle
Short luteal phases and luteal phase defects.
The luteal phase is the time between ovulation and your next period. After ovulation, the corpus luteum produces progesterone, which helps prepare the uterine lining for a possible pregnancy.
Concerns about the duration or effect of progesterone are sometimes described as luteal phase deficiency or a luteal phase defect. A consistently short luteal phase, often described as 10 days or fewer, may prompt a discussion with your OB-GYN or fertility specialist.
Recurring spotting before your period also deserves attention, but spotting or a short luteal phase alone does not confirm progesterone deficiency.
Evaluation and supportive care
Diagnosis can be challenging. A single progesterone measurement may help confirm ovulation but cannot reliably assess the quality of the entire luteal phase. Symptoms and temperature charts cannot establish the diagnosis on their own.
We review cycle records and individualize care for associated symptoms and well-being alongside medical evaluation. Your medical provider investigates underlying contributors and determines whether treatment is needed.
Personalized treatment
A plan that fits your needs.
Acupuncture appointments
Our clinic handout describes approximately two visits per week for one to two months initially, followed by weekly visits as your needs change.
Some patients later choose approximately two visits monthly, often around menstruation and ovulation. We reassess symptoms, goals, and response to care.
Chinese herbal medicine
For natural conception, we may recommend combining acupuncture with individualized Chinese herbal medicine when appropriate after reviewing your health history, medications, supplements, and possibility of pregnancy.
Tell us if you begin fertility medication, move into IUI or IVF, or receive a positive pregnancy test so we can reassess your plan.
These schedules describe our clinic’s approach. They are not a required course or a proven schedule for increasing pregnancy rates.
Between appointments
Practical steps for preconception health.
Understand your fertile window
- Record period dates, spotting, symptoms, and ovulation test results to share with your providers.
- Ovulation predictor tests detect the urinary LH surge. Cervical mucus changes can provide additional clues. Apps estimate timing but do not confirm ovulation.
- If tracking basal body temperature, measure consistently upon waking. A sustained rise may help identify ovulation after it occurs.
- When trying through intercourse, every one to two days during the fertile window is generally recommended: the five days before ovulation and the day of ovulation.
Build sustainable habits
- Prioritize regular sleep, balanced meals, and appropriate physical activity.
- Make room for rest and activities that help you manage the emotional demands of trying to conceive.
- Discuss prenatal vitamins, folic acid, and any additional supplements with your medical provider.
- Review herbs and fertility supplements before use; they are not appropriate for everyone.
Helpful answers
Planning your fertility care.
When should I seek fertility testing?
Evaluation is generally recommended after 12 months of trying if you are under 35, or after six months if you are 35 or older. If you are over 40, more immediate evaluation may be appropriate.
Irregular or absent periods, known reproductive conditions, recurrent pregnancy loss, or other suspected fertility concerns warrant earlier assessment.
Can I receive acupuncture while having testing?
Yes. Supportive acupuncture can take place alongside appropriate medical evaluation. It should not delay testing or recommended fertility treatment.
Do I need to bring my cycle charts?
Bring any available cycle records, ovulation test results, medication list, and medical reports. You do not need extensive tracking before your first appointment.
What if I decide to pursue IVF or IUI?
Let us know so we can adapt your care to your fertility clinic’s calendar. Our IVF and IUI plans focus on acupuncture rather than routine herbal recommendations.
What should I do after a positive pregnancy test?
Notify your medical provider and our office. We will reassess your acupuncture and herbal plan. Appropriate acupuncture may continue for pregnancy symptom support alongside prenatal care.
