Needle-free

Traditional Vaccaria seeds

Small botanical seeds held against selected points on the outer ear with adhesive tape. They do not pierce the skin.

Swarovski crystal options

Decorative crystal ear-seed options provide a different appearance. Decoration does not make treatment more effective.

Needle-based

ASP auricular needles

Sterile semi-permanent needles placed by a licensed acupuncturist. These penetrate the skin and require separate suitability review and aftercare.

Understand the approach

Auricular support, integrated with your care

Discuss the goal first

Ear seeds are a form of auricular acupressure rooted in traditional Chinese medicine. Selected points on the outer ear are stimulated with gentle pressure.

We may discuss them as an optional complement to acupuncture for concerns such as tension, stress, or comfort. Evidence varies by condition, and results are not guaranteed.

Different options, different instructions

For adhesive seeds, we show you whether and how to press them, when to remove them, and what skin changes to watch for.

ASP needles are not pressed or managed automatically in the same way as adhesive seeds. Follow the specific instructions your acupuncturist provides, including removal and safe disposal.

Frequently asked questions

Clear answers before you begin.

Are ear seeds needles?

Traditional Vaccaria seeds and our crystal ear-seed options sit on the skin with adhesive. ASP devices are actual small auricular needles and are explained separately.

How long should I keep them on?

Your provider gives a wear and removal plan based on the product and your skin response. Do not assume adhesive seeds and ASP needles have the same schedule.

Do Swarovski crystals work better than basic seeds?

We offer the crystal option for appearance and preference. There is no established reason to assume decoration provides better clinical results.

Should I press the seeds throughout the day?

Follow the instructions you receive. Pressure should be gentle and tolerable. Stop if the ear becomes sore or irritated; ASP needles require their own instructions.

What if a seed falls into my ear?

Do not use a cotton swab or tool to push or retrieve it. Seek medical advice for safe removal, particularly if you have pain, blockage, or hearing changes.

Can I book this on its own?

Contact our office to discuss availability, suitability, and charges. We can also discuss whether auricular care fits an existing acupuncture plan.
