Her Story
From engineering and technology to integrative healthcare
Dr. Tsai’s belief in holistic, integrative medicine grew from personal experience. After a prolonged illness that conventional medical care could not fully explain or resolve, she discovered how chiropractic, acupuncture, and Chinese medicine could offer another way of understanding health and recovery.
That experience led her to pursue a new professional path. She believes patients should be active participants in their care and that treatment should draw from the most appropriate options for the individual rather than remain limited to a single discipline.
Before entering healthcare, Dr. Tsai earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Her artificial-intelligence and facial-recognition research, Component-Based Face Recognition with 3D Morphable Models (2003), is preserved in MIT’s official research repository under her maiden name, Jennifer Huang. She subsequently worked in software product management at Oracle and Integrated Media Measurement, as well as in management consulting with Boston Consulting Group.
Her engineering and analytical background continues to shape her clinical work. She reviews current evidence, considers each patient’s history and goals, and combines modern clinical reasoning with established integrative approaches to create thoughtful, individualized care.
