IVF & IUI Acupuncture Support in Rancho Cucamonga

Support through every stage.

Blissful Wellness provides acupuncture support for IVF and IUI in Rancho Cucamonga, timed around your cycle from preparation through transfer and the waiting period, including embryo transfer-day appointments when scheduling permits. Care is planned alongside your fertility clinic’s treatment, and acupuncture does not replace it or guarantee pregnancy.

Fertility treatment can be physically and emotionally demanding. We tailor your care to your current phase, symptoms, and medical calendar, with a focus on comfort, relaxation, and individual support.

Our doctors are licensed in both acupuncture and chiropractic and provide supportive acupuncture that complements, rather than replaces, care directed by your reproductive endocrinologist or fertility specialist. Acupuncture cannot guarantee fertilization, implantation, pregnancy, or live birth.

Care around your medical plan

A supportive place throughout treatment.

Share your medications, monitoring schedule, and procedure dates with us so we can plan appointments around your fertility clinic’s instructions.

If you are still exploring conception without IVF or IUI, visit our natural fertility support page. Our acupuncture service page explains the techniques and what to expect at your first appointment.

Preparation

Establish a supportive routine and discuss symptoms, sleep, stress, and practical preconception habits.

During your cycle

Adjust appointments around stimulation, monitoring, retrieval, insemination, and embryo transfer.

During the wait

Make time for relaxation and appropriate symptom support while continuing your fertility team’s prescribed care.

Before IVF or IUI

Begin where you are.

Your supportive care plan can begin before treatment or be adapted to a cycle already underway.

When time allows

Our clinic commonly recommends beginning supportive care approximately three months before treatment. This gives you time to establish a routine and address symptoms, sleep, stress, and everyday well-being.

Our pre-cycle handout describes approximately two acupuncture visits weekly, individualized to your needs and schedule.

If your cycle has already started

You can begin acupuncture during an active cycle. Starting three months ahead is a planning preference, not a prerequisite or a proven requirement for improving egg quality.

Do not delay recommended fertility treatment to complete an acupuncture course.

IVF and embryo transfer

Care tailored to each treatment phase.

The schedules below describe our clinic’s usual approach. We adjust appointments to your symptoms, availability, and fertility specialist’s instructions.

1. Ovarian stimulation

During stimulation, care focuses on relaxation and appropriate support for symptoms such as tension, headaches, or sleep disruption after assessment.

Our handout describes approximately two appointments weekly before the trigger injection. Your fertility team directs medication doses, monitoring, trigger timing, and retrieval.

2. After egg retrieval

Follow your fertility clinic’s recovery instructions. We plan your return to acupuncture around your recovery and any required medical clearance.

If you are resting between retrieval and transfer, appointments can resume according to your symptoms and goals rather than a fixed waiting period.

3. Frozen transfer preparation

We adapt care to your natural-cycle or medicated-cycle calendar. Your fertility specialist assesses the uterine lining and directs estrogen, progesterone, and transfer timing.

Our handout describes approximately weekly visits when transfer is more than three months away, or up to twice weekly during a shorter preparation period.

4. Around embryo transfer

Our usual approach includes an appointment the day before transfer and another on transfer day when practical, providing time for relaxation and supportive care around the procedure.

Contact us when your procedure timing is confirmed. Appointments depend on office availability and your fertility clinic’s instructions.

5. The waiting period

Some patients choose optional follow-ups around days three and five after transfer, with another near their scheduled pregnancy test.

These visits support comfort and well-being. This specific schedule has not been established to improve implantation. Continue medications and test on the date your fertility team provides.

6. After a positive test

Notify your fertility team and our office. Some patients choose approximately weekly acupuncture during the first trimester for relaxation and appropriate symptom support, including nausea.

Continue pregnancy monitoring and prescribed hormonal support. Acupuncture has not been established to prevent miscarriage or maintain pregnancy.

A particular acupuncture appointment time is not required for a successful transfer. The studies below do not validate our specific treatment schedule or guarantee an outcome.

Intrauterine insemination

Support before, during, and after IUI.

We tailor acupuncture to your natural or medication-assisted cycle and the schedule provided by your fertility clinic.

Before insemination

We tailor care to your symptoms, monitoring visits, and anticipated insemination date.

Your fertility team directs medications, ovulation monitoring, and trigger timing.

On IUI day

Our handout offers acupuncture before and after insemination when practical and available, with a focus on relaxation and comfort.

Visits are optional and should fit around your procedure without delaying it.

After insemination

An optional appointment approximately four to six days after IUI provides continued support during the waiting period.

Follow your fertility clinic’s instructions for progesterone, other medications, and pregnancy testing.

Acupuncture appointments are not required for IUI success. Research about IVF outcomes should not be assumed to demonstrate the same benefits for IUI.

A closer look at the evidence

What does research say about acupuncture and IVF?

Some studies report higher clinical pregnancy rates, but this is different from having a live birth. Results depend on the comparison treatment and study quality. A reliable increase in live-birth rates has not been established.

A large study · 2018

A large study found about the same live-birth rate with acupuncture and with sham treatment, which was designed to resemble acupuncture. About 18 out of 100 women in each group had a live birth.

These are study results, not our clinic’s success rates or a prediction of your outcome.

Embryo transfer review · 2025

A review of 11 studies found no clear improvement in pregnancy rates compared with sham acupuncture. It also found no clear increase in live births.

Newer fertility research · 2026

A newer review found more pregnancies in some comparisons, but it could not show a clear increase in live births. The studies had important limits, so the result remains uncertain.

Research has not established a best time or number of acupuncture visits for improving fertility outcomes. Our appointment suggestions are flexible, not proven success protocols.

What fertility specialists recommend

The American Society for Reproductive Medicine states that acupuncture around embryo transfer does not improve live-birth rates. Newer reviews have not established a reliable benefit.

Helpful answers

Planning acupuncture around fertility treatment.

Is it too late to start during my cycle?

No. We can adapt supportive care to your current phase. You do not need to complete a three-month course before receiving acupuncture.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Bring your medication and supplement list, fertility treatment calendar, available medical reports, and expected retrieval, transfer, or IUI dates.

Can you accommodate transfer-day appointments?

Contact us as soon as your transfer timing is confirmed. We will discuss available appointments around our office hours and your fertility clinic’s instructions. Procedure timing takes priority.

Should I take Chinese herbs during IVF or IUI?

Our IVF and IUI plans focus on acupuncture. We do not routinely recommend Chinese herbal medicine during active fertility treatment or pregnancy. Review all herbs and supplements with your fertility specialist before use.

Can acupuncture replace progesterone?

No. Continue progesterone and all other prescribed medications exactly as directed. Acupuncture does not replace hormonal support or medical monitoring.

Does everyone need the same appointment schedule?

No. The schedules described on this page come from our clinic handouts and are adjusted to your needs. They are not required protocols or guarantees of success.

Can care continue during pregnancy?

Appropriate acupuncture may continue for relaxation and pregnancy symptoms alongside prenatal care. Notify us after a positive test so we can adapt your plan. Acupuncture has not been established to prevent miscarriage.
