Effective date: To be assigned when approved and published

Blissful Wellness Acupuncture & Chiropractic (“Blissful Wellness,” “we,” “our”) respects your privacy. This policy describes how information may be collected, used, and shared when you use our public website, contact our office, submit an insurance-verification request, or follow a link to online scheduling.
This website policy is separate from our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, which describes the privacy rights and protections applicable to medical information maintained by our practice. If health information is subject to HIPAA or another applicable healthcare privacy law, those requirements also apply.
Information you choose to provide
When you contact us or request insurance verification, you may provide your name, contact information, insurance-plan information and other details needed to respond to your request. Our general contact form is intended for routine inquiries, not detailed medical histories or urgent medical concerns. Please do not email medical records, photographs of insurance cards or other sensitive health information to our general email address; contact the office for an appropriate submission method.
If you submit a request through our embedded Cognito insurance form, the information is processed using that service and made available to our authorized team for benefits review. Verification does not guarantee coverage or payment.
Online appointment scheduling
Our booking buttons connect to Jane, our third-party practice management and online scheduling service. Information you provide within the Jane booking process is processed through Jane and our practice’s configured systems. The information requested and the handling of that information depend on the scheduling and patient-intake workflow. Review the information shown in that workflow and contact our office with questions.
Website operations and technical information
When the website is accessed, our hosting provider and essential website technologies may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser and device information, dates and times of requests, pages requested, and security logs. Cookies or similar technologies may be used to deliver site functions, maintain security, or enable embedded content. External services such as maps, videos, and forms may also process information when their features load or when you interact with them.
Website measurement and tracking
Our current measurement approach prioritizes Google Search Console, Google Business Profile performance information, and aggregate reporting from Jane, without using an unrestricted advertising tracker to follow visitors across healthcare pages.
We may evaluate limited website analytics in the future, but this policy does not state that Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads conversion tags, Meta Pixel, or remarketing technologies are currently installed or active. Before activating any new tracking technology, we will review the information it collects, where it operates, the recipients, applicable privacy requirements and needed notices or choices, and then update this policy as appropriate.
We do not intend to send patient names, email addresses, insurance details, appointment details, or symptom and treatment information to advertising or general-purpose analytics tools. Healthcare privacy obligations cannot be met merely by posting this policy or displaying a cookie banner. We do not plan to use session-replay recordings, visitor heatmaps, or health-condition-based remarketing as part of our current website measurement plan.
Do Not Track and other browser signals: [To finalize: confirm how the production website and any activated third-party technologies actually respond to Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals, and state that behavior here.]
How we use information
We use information as reasonably necessary to answer questions, review requested insurance benefits, arrange and support appointments, administer the website and practice, detect and prevent misuse, maintain records and fulfill legal obligations. Where lawful and appropriate, we may review aggregate or de-identified information about website activity and practice inquiries to improve our services.
When information may be shared
Information may be accessible to our authorized personnel and to vendors that provide services for us, including hosting, online scheduling, form handling and technical support. Information may also be provided to insurers and others as needed to respond to requests you initiate or as permitted or required by law. For protected health information, we follow applicable healthcare privacy requirements, including business-associate arrangements where required.
We do not make a categorical claim here about the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising until the production site’s vendor and tracking configurations have been confirmed. We will describe any practices and choices required by applicable California law before publication.
Retention and safeguards
We retain information according to its purpose, our recordkeeping obligations, applicable legal requirements and the systems in which it is maintained. Different categories of information may be retained for different periods. We use safeguards appropriate to the nature of information and services involved, although no internet-based system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your rights and choices
You may contact us about personal information you have provided or about privacy-related requests. Medical records and health information may be subject to different access, amendment, confidentiality and retention rights; consult our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices. California privacy rights may also apply depending on the information and law involved; we will evaluate requests under the applicable legal framework. Certain browser settings can limit cookies, but doing so may affect website functionality.
Children
Parents and legal guardians should use the appropriate scheduling or patient-intake channels when providing information for minors. Our general website does not seek unnecessary information directly from children.
Other websites
Links to Jane, Cognito, maps, social-media platforms and other sites may lead to services operated by others. Their own privacy practices may apply when you visit or interact with them.
Updates
We may revise this policy to reflect changes in our services, website technologies, privacy practices or legal obligations. The updated page will show its effective or revision date. We will provide additional notice or obtain authorization when required by law.
