Your cycle. Your symptoms. A thoughtful plan.
Blissful Wellness offers acupuncture and, when appropriate, Chinese herbal medicine for PMS, menstrual cramps and cycle-related symptoms in Rancho Cucamonga. We review your cycle pattern and history and recommend medical evaluation when symptoms call for it.
At Blissful Wellness, we listen to your concerns, review your history, and discuss a plan that fits your needs and comfort.
If you plan to use health insurance, verify your benefits before booking; coverage, exclusions, and visit limits vary, and verification does not guarantee payment.
What brings you here?
Your experience matters.
Cramping or discomfort around a period
Record when discomfort begins, how long it lasts, and which activities it affects.
Cycle-related changes in mood or sleep
Share whether changes in sleep or mood occur at a similar point each month.
Headaches or muscle tension around menstruation
Describe headache timing and any established migraine diagnosis or medication.
Understand the pattern
Personalized PMS support starts with your story.
Timing matters. A simple cycle diary can show when discomfort begins, how long it lasts, and whether bleeding or symptoms have changed. Tell us about medications, contraception, and any gynecologic diagnosis.
Your history helps us understand your concerns and consider suitable complementary care. Symptoms can have different causes, so we do not assume that every change is hormonal. New or severe symptoms deserve medical evaluation.

Choose and review a plan
Agree on specific goals and a review point. We compare symptoms and everyday activity with your starting point. If care is not useful or causes side effects, we discuss changing or stopping it and whether another assessment is needed.
Our recommended combination
PMS support with acupuncture and herbal medicine.
When appropriate, our team may recommend acupuncture with individualized Chinese herbal medicine. This is a care option, not proof that the combination works better than either treatment alone. Evidence depends on the condition and the exact formula. Your doctor reviews ingredients, medications, health history, and goals before recommending herbs.
One coordinated care plan
Acupuncture and herbal recommendations are considered together so the plan fits your concerns and daily routine. We review your response and adjust recommendations as needed.
This is complementary support alongside appropriate medical care. Continue prescribed treatment unless your prescribing clinician advises otherwise.
Simple capsule options
We use Sun Ten and Evergreen capsules when recommended. Capsules offer a convenient alternative to preparing herbal decoctions and can make the recommended routine easier to follow.
Herbal recommendations may be discussed as part of your acupuncture treatment. Capsules are purchased separately according to your needs and the doctor’s recommendations.

Your symptoms & care
Do I need to track my cycle?
A diary is helpful but not required. Record symptom timing, bleeding changes, and what interferes with daily life. Bring any notes you already have to your appointment.
Do you recommend combining acupuncture and herbs?
Yes. For PMS support, we generally recommend individualized Chinese herbal medicine with acupuncture when appropriate. Bring your medication and supplement list for review. Capsules are purchased separately.
Can you help with menstrual migraines?
We can discuss complementary symptom support alongside your migraine care. Tell us whether headaches occur before, during, or after your period and which treatments you already use. New neurological symptoms or a sudden severe headache need urgent evaluation.
Planning your visit
How many visits will I need?
There is no fixed number for every person. Your findings, preferences, and response guide the plan. Follow-up visits should review whether care helps the goals you agreed on.
How do I prepare for a first appointment?
Bring relevant records and your medication list. You can also write down your main questions and a brief symptom timeline. Contact the office about fees and coverage before booking.
Research and treatment choices
Does acupuncture help PMS or period cramps?
Acupuncture may help some PMS symptoms, but the evidence is uncertain. PMS and period cramps are different problems: PMS usually occurs before bleeding, while cramps occur around a period. New, worsening, or disabling pain needs assessment for other causes.
| Source | What was studied | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| PMS: 2018 Cochrane review | Five trials involving 277 women studied acupuncture or acupressure. The search covered research through 2017. | Some symptoms improved compared with sham treatment, but small studies and risk of bias made the evidence low or very low quality. The review did not establish superiority to recommended medicines. |
| Period cramps: 2016 Cochrane review | 42 trials involving 4,640 women studied period pain without an identified underlying cause, using research through 2015. | The review could not establish effectiveness reliably. These older findings are a caution about certainty, not evidence that every patient will or will not benefit. |
What other care should I consider?
For cramps, ask your gynecologic clinician about suitable anti-inflammatory medicine or hormonal options. For PMS that disrupts work, relationships, or mood, medical treatment may help. Complementary care should fit that plan. Acupuncture or herbs should not be described as correcting a proven hormone imbalance.
How will we know whether care is helping?
Record symptoms each day for two to three months, including period dates, pain, mood, sleep, medication use, and missed activities. Comparing the same part of each cycle is more useful than comparing one good day with one bad day. Review whether the plan is worthwhile and change or stop ineffective care.
When should medical care come first?
New severe pelvic pain, heavy bleeding with dizziness, or pain when pregnancy is possible needs prompt medical assessment. Persistent pain between periods or pain that increasingly limits daily life should be evaluated rather than assumed to be PMS.
